Insulin resistance impairs fat loss

A new study reports that people with insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia are more likely to lose weight in an unhealthy way. The study shows they are more likely to lose more lean mass and less fat mass compared to those without IR. This has potentially profound implications for for helping people understand the importance of healthy weight loss and how to achieve it.

Today I am sharing with you my favorite healthy weight loss pancake recipes that have helped me lose up to 50 LBS of body fat. How? Well, #1 – I didn’t use oil and butter, #2 – I used minimal real vegan, plant-based ingredients, and #3 – I was smart with when and how I ate them (more in the video with this – for me this was key). I hope you enjoy this video and realize that you don’t have to restrict yourself for weight loss by eating a vegan, plant-based diet. This is not a fad diet, this is the rest of your healthy life. ✨ Recipes for Chocolate Pancakes:
1 C Whole Wheat or Oat Flour
1 tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
2 tbsp unsweet cocoa powder
2 tsp maple syrup or a few drops of stevia for fewer calories
1.5 – 2 C of plant milk depending on how thin or thick you like your
pancakes.
Mix together well and cook on a non-stick pan. Flip when they start to bubble. Top with fresh strawberries, vegan chocolate chips, and a little maple syrup.

Blueberry Pancakes:
Use the same ingredients except eliminate cocoa powder.
Once you start cooking the pancakes, gently add fresh blueberries. Flip when pancakes start to bubble. Add desired toppings and enjoy.

Giles Yeo explores what your environment has to do with your bodyweight, the science behind why popular diets succeed, at least in the short term, and why they ultimately fail.

Dr Giles Yeo is a geneticist with over 20 years’ experience dedicated to researching the genetics of obesity. He obtained his PhD from the University of Cambridge and assisted the ground-breaking research that uncovered key pathways in how the brain controls food intake.

His current research focuses on understanding how these pathways differ from person to person, and the influence of genetics in our relationship with food and eating habits.

He is based at MRC Metabolic Diseases Unit, where he is Principal Research Associate, and is a fellow and graduate tutor at Wolfson College. Giles also moonlights as a science presenter for the BBC. He lives in Cambridge with his family.

SIMPLY tying her shoelaces or walking up a flight of stairs used to leave Catherine struggling for breath. At her heaviest, the childminder from Oklahoma City, weighed 420lbs, wearing a size 6xl pant size. Being treated for numerous medical issues including polycystic ovaries, immune disorders, high blood pressure and diabetes, doctors repeatedly warned Catherine she was putting her life at risk if she didn’t lose weight. Only after multiple warnings and doctors’ insistence that she needed to have a gastric bypass did Catherine discover within herself the reserves needed to lose 260lbs entirely naturally. But Catherine’s weight loss journey is far from over – now awaiting skin removal surgery to remove the estimated 20lbs of excess skin from her body, health complications have meant she has had to delay having the surgery while her body heals from invasive vein removal procedures.

However, the truth is that whether it’s keto, intermittent fasting, paleo, and so on, all of these diets work by making it easier for you to eat at a calorie deficit. These diets don’t have a “secret” fat loss effect which has been proven time and time again in the literature. Simply meaning that the best weight loss diet or the best diet for abs for example is the one that you can adhere to the best. However, weight loss is one thing and fat loss is a whole other variable which is MUCH more important when it comes to improving your physique. When it comes to optimizing the best fat loss diet, you need to pay attention to how much protein,fats, and carbs you’re ingesting on a daily basis. I go through how to optimize each of these factors to create the best fat burning diet in my video. I also show a daily nutrition/meal plan (full day of eating) for fat loss with various examples/macros of what I personally eat on a daily basis.
