How 4 Weeks Can Get Rid Of Your Belly Fat For Good

lose fat No Comments »

I’m going to show you how to lose belly fat for good with a 4-week plan. During each week, we’ll implement one of 4 things that have been found in research to be the key to lose stubborn belly fat and keep it off. We’ll show you how to properly assess and monitor your belly fat loss progress, give examples of food swaps to consider for your weight loss diet plan to kick start fat loss, talk about a few exercises to speed it up, and then combine everything with a bonus tip for those who are really serious – and want to lose belly fat, fast. By the end of this video, you’ll have a full plan that you can get started with immediately, and if followed consistently, will help you finally lose that stubborn belly fat.

In week 1, you need to weigh yourself every morning after waking up and after using the bathroom. Don’t drink or eat anything before. After 7 days, take an average of your weight. This 7-day average will then be your “weight” for that week. Every week you will repeat this process. You will then compare these weekly averages to assess how much fat (i.e. belly fat) you’re losing with what we will implement next in weeks 2-4. A reasonable goal is to lose weight at a rate of around 0.5-1% of your body weight per week.

During this second week, you need to close the gap between how many calories you can eat to lose fat and how many calories you’re currently eating to kickstart the process of losing your stubborn belly fat. A simple method to get a rough estimate of how many calories you can eat is to take your body weight and multiply it by either 13 or 29 depending on if you’re using lbs or kgs. Download a food tracking app such as MyFitnessPal and start logging down every single thing you eat during a typical day. By the end of the first day, you’ll be able to see roughly how many calories you’re eating.

This number will most likely be higher than the number of calories you can eat to lose fat. We need to close this gap. Employ a flexible approach toward your diet plan for the best chance of success at weight loss. This is where you more or less continue eating what you want, but gradually make swaps to reduce your calorie intake.

Although reducing calories is the main thing you want to do when it comes to how to lose stubborn belly fat, being active should not be overlooked as it will speed up the process. That’s why, starting in week 3, we’ll track NEAT. It may not seem like it, but daily living activities like walking, fidgeting, washing dishes, and gardening can make a big difference when it comes to fat loss. The easiest way to track your general activity is through your step count. The greatest benefits seem to occur in the neighbourhood of 7,000-9,000 steps per day and is a good minimum goal to aim for.

During week 4, you need to implement a structured exercise routine with the right amount and the right type of exercise. As a recommendation, you should aim for a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise 3 times per week. If you can up this to at least 60 minutes 4-5 days per week that is even better. That will help you lose belly fat – fast. As for the type of exercise to do, what we recommend within our Built With Science programs that have worked wonders for thousands of members, is to start with a foundation of about 3-5 weight training days per week. Once you’re consistent with that, add in 20-30 minute cardio sessions to help you hit the weight loss targets we established back in week 1.

Although you can’t directly target fat loss from your belly, you can grow your abs just like any other muscle by training them with weights. As they grow, they will pop more through your skin and as a result, make them more visible even if you haven’t lost all the stubborn belly fat. To do this, train your abs with weighted movements regularly 2-3 times a week. Weighted cable crunches, weighted reverse crunches, and weighted sit ups are all great options.

Keep in mind that this should not be implemented until you’ve nailed down the previous 4 things. Once you get all 4 implemented, you’ll start experiencing fat loss. Keep this up for long enough and stay consistent with it, and eventually the fat will come off from stubborn areas like your belly.

For those looking to take this one step further with a program that puts all of this together for you, such that you know exactly how to train and what to eat week after week to lose stubborn fat for good and build lean muscle just like thousands of our members have done, then take our free analysis quiz to determine which of our plans will best help you transform your specific body below:

Dr. Jason Fung: Fasting as a Therapeutic Option for Weight Loss

weight loss No Comments »

Dr. Jason Fung, MD, is a nephrologist and expert in the use of intermittent fasting and low-carbohydrate diets for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes. In this presentation, delivered on Aug. 2, 2018, at the 2018 CrossFit Health Conference in Madison, Wisconsin, Fung shares his first-hand experiences with “The Mess” and discusses how he shifted his research and medical practices as a result of those experiences.

Fung’s objectives for his presentation include:
1. Understanding why long-term weight loss is so difficult.
2. Introducing the concept of therapeutic fasting.
3. Understanding some myths and misunderstandings associated with the fasting process.

He recalls treating obese and diabetic patients with traditional methods, which included what he characterizes as poor dietary recommendations and a slurry of drugs. He explains, “It became obvious that I’m just sort of holding their hand until they get their heart attack, until they get dialysis, until they go blind, until we chop their feet off.”

“It’s really sad to realize that the profession that you’ve chosen is not really helping people,” he says. This realization compelled him to diagnose the problems associated with traditional care and seek alternative treatment methods for his patients.

Fung historicizes what he calls “the modern eating pattern,” which emerged in 1977 in the U.S. with the development of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. He notes the 1977 guidelines led to the consumption of more grains and sugars, which in turn led to people “eating often, eating late, and eating all the time.”

Incidences of obesity and Type 2 diabetes reached epidemic levels, and the most common treatments long have been drug interventions. Unfortunately, the prevailing non-pharmaceutical prescription — to eat less and move more — has a 99.9% failure rate. Fung observes that popular wisdom tells us to blame the patient and assume he or she did not adhere to the prescription. He claims a basic understanding of metabolism suggests otherwise, however.

Fung explains why a significant reduction in caloric intake leads to a decrease in basal metabolism. This biological inevitability is ignored by the proponents of the “calories in, calories out” fallacy, he observes.

He also explains why intermittent fasting is an effective alternative to traditional treatments for obesity and diabetes. The modern eating pattern keeps our insulin levels high all the time as we eat over long durations, and when insulin remains high all the time, Fung explains, our bodies store food energy as fat, and we remain hungry.

Intermittent fasting, on the other hand, allows insulin levels to drop, which puts us in burning mode rather than storing mode.
Fung claims his recommendations are so effective that patients no longer need to say, “Oh wow, I have to go see my doctor to see what pill I need,” or, “I need to go see my doctor to see if he needs to stick a stent in me.” Instead, Fung explains, “We’re giving you the power to take back your own health, because you’re not gonna get it from anywhere else.”

Belly fat is something no one really wants to have. And if you stand with us, who have something, we have great news. These 10 home remedies will help you get a flat belly without exercise or diet!

All these remedies will also work as an addition to your workout plan, so we don’t encourage you to leave the gym forever, but showing you what you can work even without it. Finally, a very important thing to remember is that there is one thing, which can ruin it all, so you should avoid it. That is not eating hamburgers every day (even though it’s bad, too). That is stress.
When you worry a lot about being too fat, or not seeing any effect of your new diet plan, your body produces stress hormones. They affect your digestive system and bam; it leads to bloating. A stressed body also produces cortisol, which adds a fatty layer to your belly. So, sleep at least seven hours every day, don’t use smoking as a stress reliever and do the things you enjoy. You will love the results!

TIMESTAMPS
Drink “flat tummy” lemon water 0:49
Choose cranberry juice over soda 1:54
Add chia seeds to your diet 2:45
Spice up your diet with ginger tea 3:38
Sip green tea to lose belly fat 4:34
Experiment with dandelion tea 5:03
Don’t underestimate the power of cayenne peppers 6:08
Add coconut oil to your diet 6:43
Use cinnamon 7:23
Use garlic to lose belly fat 7:53

SUMMARY
– Lemon juice and pulp are rich in vitamin C, pectin fiber, and citric acid. Vitamin C sounds like the most familiar thing on the list, but the other two things are good for you, as well. Lemon can help you speed up the fat burning process and lose weight faster.
– Cranberry juice tastes just as good, if not better, and is a much healthier choice. It is a good source of vitamin C, minerals, antioxidants, and organic acid, which is a digestive enzyme. If you buy it from a store, you will notice many brands of cranberry juice contain sugar.
– Chia seeds are a great source of antioxidants, fiber, protein, and Omega-3 fatty acids. All this makes them a great ally at losing weight. If you don’t use chia seeds in your meals, it is a good time to start doing so.
– Ginger burns fat, makes you feel full and brings down your appetite because it regulates blood sugar.
– Green tea is much more than just hot water with a flavor; it is a powerful detoxifier. Perhaps you didn’t know that it has caffeine in it. Yes, just like coffee. Caffeine is known for its fat burning powers when it is consumed in reasonable amounts.
– Dandelion tea is becoming a more and more popular drink these days, because people find out about its medicinal properties, and they want it. You can use either the leaves or the roots of dandelion to make healthy tea. Infused dandelion leaves help to improve the digestive process and contribute to weight loss.
– Have you ever noticed what effect eating a spicy pepper has on you? Yes, it is hard to ignore. Your body temperature rises, and it goes into cooldown mode. As a result, it burns calories faster.
– Coconut oil smells like heaven and is a superhero when it comes to fat burning. It has a unique combination of fatty acids in it, which is great for your metabolism. Coconut oil in your diet helps you lose abdominal fat.
– Cinnamon has its own ways of helping you lose fat. It is great at controlling blood sugar levels in your body. It also speeds up your metabolism and helps your body use carbohydrates, which would otherwise turn into excess fat. So have it every day when you can.
– We made to the top of our list. Meet garlic. Okay, you have most likely met it before, but you might know it is a miracle food when it comes to burning fat. It suppresses appetite and sends “full” signals to your brain. It increases metabolism by stimulating your nervous system to release the hormone of adrenaline.

The Best Way to Lose 5 LBS of Body Fat (AND FASTEST!)

Slash body fat here – http://athleanx.com/x/my-workouts
Subscribe to this channel here – http://bit.ly/2b0coMW

The best way to lose 5 pounds of body fat is a question that I get almost every day. People want to know if burpees are the best exercise for getting the job done. Others want to know if battle ropes or even jump rope are better at burning calories and burning fat. While all of them are at the top of the list for the most calories burned on a minute per minute basis, they still are not the best way to lose five pounds of body fat the fastest.

In this video, I show you how you can never outtrain a bad diet. If you refuse to pay attention to the quality of your nutrition and the foods you put in your mouth you are never going to have the low levels of body fat that you desire long term. Sure, anyone can follow a short term diet that allows them to lose fat for a few weeks however if you can’t keep it up then you will never be satisfied with your body fat levels over the course of the year.

Mistakenly, people look to exercises as the best way to drop body fat. While you definitely need to train, achieving fat loss is and always will be better accomplished via the right nutrition plan. This goes back to the comment about never being able to outtrain a bad diet. You simply cannot make up enough calorie burn via exercise (even the most intense) to overcome bad food choices. For instance, our very own Jesse is a big sugar fanatic and a worshiper of gummy bears. Just 17 measly gummy bears has 150 calories. Even if Jesse were to do 10 minutes straight of high effort high intensity burpees, he would only burn 120 calories and he would lose that battle with a net calorie gain of 30.

Now Jesse, being a hardgainer, is not concerned at the moment with his body fat levels. He was the only one wiling to do the burpees while I talked during the video being the good sport that he is. If you are looking to burn 5 lbs of fat however, you need to be sure that you are paying attention to what really matters. Your nutrition will always be at the top of the priority list for getting that job done.

Now, does that mean that conditioning exercises like burpees, jump rope, battle ropes and split squat jumps don’t have a place in your workout program if you need to lose fat? Not at all. In fact, with a good nutrition approach in place these exercises become even more effective since they compliment the losses that you are already making because of your improved diet. Not just that, each of these exercises helps to improve your stamina, work capacity, endurance, power endurance and your heart.

If you are looking for a way to improve your nutrition and get it locked in almost effortlessly 365 days a year, then head to http://athleanx.com and get one of the ATHLEAN-X Training Systems that best fits your goals. If pure fat loss is at the top of your list then you should opt for Max Shred. If, like Jesse, muscle gain is your priority but you don’t want to gain fat in the process then look for the Max Size program.

How to Lose Fat (EAT CARBS!)

lose fat No Comments »

If you want to learn how to lose fat then you are going to have to possibly re-learn how to eat carbs. Let’s face it, you have likely been told that eating carbohydrates is making you fat. While there may be some truth to the rumor, it is only because you have been eating them excess. That said, there are some built-in pitfalls that make including carbs in our diets something that we have to be mindful of, however I am going to show you what those are and how to work around them in this video.

The key to fat burning is that you need to be in a hypocaloric state. Due to the tendency we have of overeating carbs there is some logic to the fact that by eliminating them from our diets we will consume fewer calories overall. That said, the replacement of the carbs has to come from somewhere. In the case of keto diets it comes in the form of fats and proteins, mostly from dietary fats.

The issue with this approach is that the macronutrient we are replacing them with is twice as calorie dense as the carbohydrates themselves.

Not to mention, it is often the case that the method we use to lose fat and drop weight in the first place is the one we are going to have to continue to use if we want to see long term permanent changes. It is here that I find the keto diet approach difficult to sustain.

So, instead of looking to exclude carbohydrates from your meal plan you need to learn to coexist with them.

That doesn’t mean that there aren’t pitfalls that we need to be mindful of however. First there is no denying the fact that carbs taste better and create more cravings than say isolated proteins or fats. It is likely due to the fact that our brains are hard wired to seek out sugars and glucose to fuel its function. Beyond that however is the additional information that carbs are not nearly as satiating as fats or proteins.

So there are definite reasons for why many people are trying to reduce them or even eliminate them from their diets these days but again, I do not believe this sets you up best for long term success. Any diet plan that is deprivation based, while it may help you to lose fat in the short term is not going to be something you can stick with forever.

In general, there are three main categories; simple sugars, complex starches and fibers. Eating carbohydrates from the fibrous carb category will have the least pronounced negative impact on rapidly raising your blood sugar levels and resultant insulin spikes.

The additional fiber present in these foods not only blunts this effect but also makes them more “bulky” food options. Add in the healthy nutrient boost these foods provide with them with plenty of vitamins and minerals and it is easy to see why the majority of the carbs you eat when you are trying to lose fat should come from here.

The simple sugars are the nutrient low carbs that are worth eliminating from your diet if you want to be ripped and lean year round. It is here that many will reach for these types of foods when enjoying a cheat meal or day. It is here however that if you delve too often, you will find frustration in not being able to achieve the body fat levels you are after.

The starchy carbs are the ones we perceive as generally “healthier” but can still present hardship if we overeat them. These are the oats, grains, pastas, breads, etc. This is the area that I believe we need to learn how to include in our meal plans and put to work fueling our bodies and muscles if we want to see the best results not to mention long term sustainability.

Beyond the identification of the types of carbs however we need to employ additional strategies to keep them helping us and not hurting our fat loss efforts. Learn the composition of the carbohydrates you are eating. Aim for carbs that provide no more than 10-20 percent of their total carbs from sugars. This information is easily available online.

Watch the video I have on dividing your plate for success and entertain the idea of a low fat diet as an alternative to low carb eating for a more sustainable plan.

And lastly, don’t forget to train with weights to compliment your diet to lose fat. Building lean muscle is always going to help you in your efforts to lose body fat. The more lean muscle you have the more storage capacity you have for blood glucose in the form of muscle glycogen.

The bottom line is, if you are looking for how to lose fat and want a step by step plan for getting it done permanently, you need a complete plan with workouts and meal plans laid out for you day by day. Those are all available for you at athleanx.com via the link below.

Insulin resistance impairs fat loss

A new study reports that people with insulin resistance and hyperinsulinemia are more likely to lose weight in an unhealthy way. The study shows they are more likely to lose more lean mass and less fat mass compared to those without IR. This has potentially profound implications for for helping people understand the importance of healthy weight loss and how to achieve it.

Please remember that we cannot spot reduce fat, meaning we can’t choose the areas on our body where we loose fat. However to get fat loss results I recommend the following
1. Being in calorie deficit
2. Cardio/ HIIT workout (I often call these Fat Loss/Burn workouts on my channel)
3. Specific muscle targeted workouts. To strengthen and develop specific muscles.
The key to achieving your fitness and health goals is consistency and healthy lifestyle changes, without restriction. I don’t believe in crazy fad diets. Simply eat nutritious food, move your body, smile and enjoy the journey! Love Lilly
